Basic notions
- The articular chains: vertical axis and horizontal axis.
- Balancing the standing man.
- What is a myofascial chain?
- Definition of a typology.
- Presentation of the muscle chains according to the G.D.S. method.
- The personality chains and the relational chains.
- Influence of the chains in the child’s growth cycle (growth wave).
- In parallel with Chinese energetics: five elements, five muscle chains.
Overview of the Anterolateral chains (A.L.)
- Behavioral movement inducing activity in these chains.
- Anatomical pathophysiology of the anterolateral chains and biomechanical analysis: foot valgus, genu valgum, patellar luxation, protrusive coxarthrosis, certain forms of HSP, the temporomandibular articulation, corresponding visceral dysfonction.
- Working on the foot, the abdomen, intestinal area, liver and gallbladder release. Releasing tension in the thorax and the aponeuroses of the upper limb.
Overview of the Posteromedian Chains (P.L.)
- Behavioral movement inducing activity in those chains.
- Anatomical pathophysiology of the posterolateral chains and biomechanical analysis: the « true » flat foot, the genu varum, meniscal problems, « Sigaud’s wings », certain forms of Pulmonary Sclerosing Haemangioma (PSH) corresponding visceral dysfunction.
- Self awareness of torsions in the lower limbs. Working the pelvis, the feet and the knees. Specific thoracic « modeling », working the shoulder. Interventions at the level of the cranium and the TMJ.
Overview the Anteromedian chains (A.M.)
- Behavioral movement inducing activity in those chains.
- Anatomical pathophysiology of the anteromedian chains and biomechanical analysis: hallux valgus, knee flexion deformity, problems with the perineum, cyphosis and sternal depression, buffalo neck, a cerebral curve inversion, mandibular retraction, etc.
- Self awareness of torsions in the upper limb. Working the feet and the knees, the perineum and pelvis. Specific vertebral modeling, shoulder work.
- Maneuvers at the level of the cranium and the TMJ.
Overview of the Posteromedian chains (P.M.)
- Behavioral movement inducing activity in those chains.
- Anatomical pathophysiology of the posteromedian chains and biomechanical analysis: pes cavus, faux varum and knee recurvatum, sacrum horizontalization, lumbosacral extension, large anteroposterior thorax diameter, Arnold’s neuralgias and C1 blocks, frontal sinusitis, etc.
- Self awareness of the bone structure. Working the feet, the ankle, the knees and the pelvis. Specific vertebral and thoracic « modeling », working at the level of the cranium.
Overview of the Posteroanterior chains (P.A.) and Anteroposterior chains (A.P.)
- Behavioral movement inducing activity in those chains.
- Anatomical pathophysiology of the posteroanterior anteroposterior chains and biomechanical analysis: cervical rigidity, interscapular lordosis, blocking of the diaphragm, hyperlordosis and spondylolysthesis, patellar retraction, etc.
- Stimulation of axial self-magnification and re-automation of the physiological breathing. Restoration of the cervical rythmicity, releasing the thorax and diaphragm. Interscapular and dorsolumbar delordosis. Unlocking the knees and refunctionalization of the quadriceps, etc.
Treatment strategies :
- Global and segmental morphological analysis.
- Elasticity test in the chains.
- Case study and typical session building.
Practice and theory will alternate. The theory lessons will be accompanied by ample computerized images and photocopies. A bibliography of biomechanical resources is suggested.
Training sessions may be recorded.
Instructors : teachers from the Philippe Campignion training center (France) in partnership with Yanic Koram from the CERA center (Montreal, Canada).

Release
The Chains concepts developed by Madam Godelieve Denys Struyf is a psychocorporal approach and, as such, is multi-faceted. A series of six installments seeks to facilitate the work of our students, but could also educate the neophyte on the subject of the biomechanics aspects of the G.D.S. Chains. The first of there installments establishes the basic notions needed for the in-depth study of each chain that will be developed in the following.
