Workshop in Vancouver and Calgary

Treating pathologies of the knee

Presented by the Philippe Campignion Center France

VANCOUVER : February 2012, 18, 19, 20.
CALGARY : February 2012, 23, 24, 25.

Trauma is often seen as the primary reason for pathology of the knee: tearing of the meniscus, ACL, MCL. Sports play a major role in these types of traumas. However our patients do not have to be athletes to sustain knee injuries or have pain and discomfort in the knee. This phenomenon brings us to the theory of which the G.D.S muscle chains bases its treatment.

When in excess, families of muscles can become rigid myofascial chains. This holding pattern of tension traps the body in an attitude that leaves a specific structural postural imprint on the body. Such tension can lead to dysfunctions such as joint subluxation, pain, weakness, and pathology.

This course using the G.D.S method will focus on the knee and allow you to determine and treat the emergence of the knee’s predisposing pathologies and ways to treat and manage trauma to the joint itself.

This course offers:

  • A brief introduction of the G.D.S Chains.
  • An anatomy and physiology review of the bones, ligaments, and muscles of the lower extremity.
  • A review in the organization of the arches of the foot and treatment of tibia and fibula, coxofemoral, femorotibial joints and pelvic torsions.
  • Techniques on how to reprogram twists and torsions of bones of the lower extremity.
- G.D.S theory presentation of different pathologies of the knee.
  •
Manual therapy mobilization techniques that include reflexive, isometric, passive rythmic, mobilization techniques.
  • An analysis of cases followed by rehabilitation of proprioception, stimulation of quadriceps, postural education and stretching.
  • Recommendations to give patients for effective and long lasting results from treatment.
